hen weekends in Spain

What a fantastically run service you have - I'm impressed. Not only was Dave the most helpful person I've ever spoken to abroad but both yourself and Christian have both got back to me.
I will remember that when it comes to my hen night !

Getting Around Barcelona

the gothic quarter in Barcelona Walking
The centre of Barcelona is quite compact, and you can get to most places on foot. Many places are centred around La Rambla, and as your hotel will be very close to this main street, walking is the best option for getting around.
The metro is convenient, clean and cheap in Barcelona Metro
If you find the London Underground easy to use, you will find the Barcelona Metro even easier, and a good deal cheaper too. The Metro system has five lines, all colour-coded and numbered. You pay 1.1€ for a single ride, even if you change lines. Buying a T-10 card (tarjeta) gets you 10 rides for 6€, not only a considerable saving but it saves you having to keep buying single tickets every time.
The Barcelona tourist bus Bus
You can catch most buses from Plaza de Catalunya at the top end of La Rambla, a single costing you 1.1€ and buses normally run from 06:00 until 22:00. You can also use the T-10 card which you use and buy for the metro. Yellow night buses (nitbusos) run between 03:00 and 05:00 and pass through Plaza de Catalunya every 30 to 45 minutes.
You can grab a taxi very easily in Barcelona - just look for the green light ! Taxi
Taxis are black and yellow in Barcelona, and have a green light and the numbers 1,2 and 3 on the roof. If the green light is on, or there is a "lliure/libre" sign in the passenger side windscreen, the taxi is free so flag it down.
The pricing system is complicated, but basically go on 2€ minimum fare for the weekends, with the meter ticking over at 0.85€ per kilometre.

Henorita's Hint :
