Your
group will be picked up outside your hotel by your Henorita guide, and
taken by coach or minibus to the indoor gokarting track 20 minutes outside
Barcelona.

The
track is an amazing feat in track design. Although the purpose-built building
is fairly large, the designers have managed to cram in a full 500m track.
This includes a starting grid, a long full-pelt uphill section, a flyover
bridge section, and numerous hairpins and chicanes. Not only this, but
there´s still room for an F1 themed spacious bar and restaurant
area, elevated so you can see most of the track action down below. |
 |
Once
there, you can relax at the bar whilst your guide sorts out the insurance
forms and race times. You´ll need to think of your racing nickname,
as this name comes up on the electronic scoreboard once you start racing.
Then after a safety briefing, changing into full racing overalls, shower
cap (don´t ask !) and helmet, and storing your valuables in a secure
locker in the changing rooms, it´s race time ! |
 |
You
file out of the pits area in your 270 cc kart, then you have 10 minutes
of racing to beat your friends round the track and get that all elusive
fastest track time - the Henorita record currently stands at 40.57 seconds.
After a break of 10 minutes to rest your arms after all that hard cornering
and rehydrate, you´re back on again for 10 minutes. And again after
that, if you opt for 3 time trials.
|
 |
At
the end, the detailed timesheet printout will show the winner, and then
it´s presentation time on the podium by the best man or hen with
a bottle of cava bubbly to shower everybody with. Also a great photo opportunity
once everybody is on the podium. Then after a post race analysis and drink
upstairs in the bar, it´s back to Barcelona for a recovery siesta,
food, and then some well earned beers out on the town. |
 |
For
insurance purposes, it´s obligatory to bring your passports, and they
won´t let you race with sandals. |
